The town of Røros is one of the oldest towns of wooden buildings in Europe, and also one of the few mining towns in the world that has been found worth of a place on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The town center boasts a rare collection of large and well-preserved wooden buildings, made all the more real and authentic by the fact that the people of today live and work in them. The colorful and charming little mountain town has been shaped by mining operations and agriculture through the ages.
